Entries are limited to schools, civic clubs & organizations, chambers of commerce, churches, local fund raisers, etc.; however, personal entries are excluded. We recommend sending your info at least 14 days prior to the event date. There is no guarantee implied or otherwise made that your event will be included and publishing thereof is at the sole discretion of BSB. December

Now thru Jan. 1st: The Brookville Town Park is open for its Winter Wonderland. The park will be lit up throughout the season for a drive through tour.

Now thru Dec. 31st: Weaver Christmas LightsThe Weaver family offers a magical walk-through light display beginning Thanksgiving evening through New Year’s Eve. The paths are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Free hot cocoa and cookies are offered. There is no admission charge, but donations are appreciated. Hours are: 6 p.m. 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 6 p.m.  10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

5: The City of Batesville, Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Batesville Main Street are co-hosting the annual parade and community tree lighting event  in downtown Batesville, rain or shine. Batesville Main Street’s Santa’s Village and Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen at Inspiration Park open at 4 p.m. and will feature Storytime with Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, strolling characters and more. In addition to Main Street’s activities, there will be nearly two dozen vendors offering fun holiday activities for kids and adults alike, as well as providing unique gifts for stocking stuffers, Christmas treats, or your hard-to-buy-for family members. Choirs from the Batesville Intermediate, Middle and High Schools are slated to perform. And don’t miss the All-Aboard Train Exhibit at the Batesville Historical Center, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring 26 trains.

6: College Corner Small Town Christmas. Lighted parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Many vendors (food and craft), a parade, Santa, carriage rides and much more!

6: With winter comes the city of Oxford’s beloved Holiday Festival. This day-long event begins at the Oxford Community Arts Center and then moves outdoors at Uptown Parks. Celebrate the holidays with live performances, activities for kids and adults, free carriage rides, cozy garden igloos, and so much more to make your holiday magical. And don’t forget—Santa will be stopping by both locations for memorable photo opportunities!  (Main Street will be closed)

6: Kickoff Liberty’s Christmas In Our Hometown Festival with a festive Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the Union County 4-H Building. Enjoy a delicious breakfast, fun craft station, and photo opportunities—all while supporting a great cause! Proceeds benefit Union County 4-H. Then. after breakfast, head over to the courthouse square for FREE Kid Games & Fun Activities—like the Liberty Dash For Cash at 1 p.m. Parade later that evening.

6: Experience the magic of Christmas like never before at the Union County (Indiana) "Bethlehem Experience" during Liberty’s Christmas In Our Hometown festival | 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the 4-H Cattle Barns. Step back in time with a live-action recreation of the streets of Bethlehem, leading you into the nativity scene. Enjoy interactive displays and meet real actors bringing the story to life. Don't miss this unforgettable holiday adventure for the whole family!

13: Wreaths Across America Day to be held in Franklin County at 9 a.m. Join us at the Purple Heart Memorial on the Franklin County Government Center lawn for the Wreaths Across America ceremony, a meaningful event honoring our veterans. This year marks Franklin County's first participation in National Wreaths Across America Day. Led by the Brookville VFW, the ceremony is open to everyone and aims to recognize those who served and are buried here. After the ceremony, eight ceremonial wreaths will be placed at each of the Franklin County cemeteries currently registered with Wreaths Across America. The eight wreaths represent the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and POW/MIA.

14: Santa at Cedar Grove Firehouse! Ho, ho, hold onto your helmets, Cedar Grove. We just got word from the North Pole that Santa Claus himself will be making a special stop at the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department at 1 p.m. Santa’s swapping reindeer for a firetruck and can’t wait to meet all the good boys and girls (and grown-ups, too!). Come by for photos, smiles, and a little Christmas magic straight from the North Pole. So, mark your calendars, polish your candy cane stripes, and get ready to jingle all the way to the firehouse.

 

January

1: Walk Off the Holidays at Whitewater Canal Trail Event 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Meet at Third Place, Metamora. Start the new year with a brisk walk along the beautiful Whitewater Canal Trail. Bring your friends and family and enjoy some wood-fired pizza afterward. A refreshing way to welcome 2026 — together on the trail.
